French Baroque coincides with the rule of King Louis XIV in the late 17th century to early 18th century (1638-1715). King Louis wanted to make France the artistic leader in the world. The Baroque style was formal, pretentious, and ornate. The Baroque style influence reached well beyond France's borders, and was infused throughout Europe.
This blog highlights a few of all things
of the interiors...furniture, rooms, embellishments,
and ornamentation of this period that serve as an

inspiration to modernity today.

Interesting Baroque Interior
A mosque, a synagogue after Alfonso X granted the site to the Jews, and a Mudejar- gothic Christian church after the Jewish quarter was assailed in 1391, this church is one of the jewels of Andalusian Baroque. Lavishly decorated in honor of the Immaculate Conception, Santa MarÃa la Blanca retains much of its past beauty and character.
Baroque artists resorted to using plaster, for decorative purposes. Santa MarÃa la Blanca is an example of this, as can be seen in the lavishly decorated plaster-designs for the vaulted ceilings and the dome over the transept. This display had a great influence on the Andalusian's baroque architecture.
